The Space
Sleeping Possibilities-
Private & Dorm-Style
Private
Our luxury option is The Private Room. It has a door, and no one else
sleeping in the same room! Fit for a monarch. The room has a
queen-sized bed, a desk, a plant and a bunch of books.
Dorm-Style
We have two dorm-style rooms,
with nine beds between them.
Three
of the beds are full-sized and can comfortably sleep two people.
All the bunk beds are the
same
price, and it's generally first come, first served, except to
accommodate those with limited mobility, elders, and couples sharing a
bed.
Due to limited space,
we cannot guarantee a single-sex room option, but we will certainly do
our best to accommodate the needs of our guests.
Please feel
invited to convey any concerns to our staff. We
will do our utmost to address whatever issues may concern you.
Bedding and a towel are provided.
Facilities
We have one bathroom downstairs for guest use.
When people are waiting for the facilities we do ask that folks limit
their bathroom time and also share the space when appropriate. There is
a half-bath upstairs available when the downstairs bathroom is in high
demand.
A washer and dryer are available to guests at $1 wash /$1 dry.
Detergent is provided. We have a clothesline available at no cost.
The common room is a cozy space heated with a wood stove, perfect for
reading, chatting, listening to music, lounging around, or playing
cards.
Our kitchen is open to guests and is vegetarian, with the exception
that fish is okay to cook here. Other than that, we ask that you only
bring vegetarian food into the hostel. Shelf and
refrigerator/freezer space is available for storage. All food
must be labeled with the date, and anything without a name on it is
considered communal. We ask that guests make an effort to remove
their food or make it
communal before they end their stay.
We do not provide food with
lodging, but people have been known to cook up large meals and offer
them around.
The fenced backyard and small garden is open to guests, with an outdoor
seating area (a popular place to poison yourself with tobacco). Autos can be parked on the
street; bicycle parking is in the back. We appreciate if you limit auto
traffic by carpooling, biking,
or using mass transit.
PETS
Pets are allowed under certain
circumstances, call ahead of time to
inquire. There is a $5/night pet fee.
